A lecture with Catawba Riverkeeper Foundation Executive Director, Rick Gaskins

The Catawba River is the lifeblood of the Charlotte region and it is one of the most endangered rivers in the United States.  Rick Gaskins, an environmental attorney and Executive Director of the Catawba Riverkeeper Foundation, will provide an overview of current threats to the health of the Catawba River.  Specifically, he will be discussing the drought, water use issues, proposed inter-basin transfers of water, issues relating to development, the impact of proposed sewage treatment plants, the impact of proposed power plants and other sources of pollution in the Catawba River basin.
