The home is the prime place prescription drugs are accessed by children and teenagers. In fact, the Center on Addiction and Drug Use,  latest 2009 poll of teenagers nationwide shows that 1/3rd of the teenagers get the drugs in their own home and another third from friends whom get them from their house.  

Beyond misuse and abuse, improper disposal of medications has lead to the discovery of several medications in our drinking water supply.

 

Partners include Carolinas Center for Injury Prevention, Safe Kids Charlotte Mecklenburg, Catawba and Yadkin Riverkeeper organizations, Women's Impact Fund and Harris Teeter.
