The Lake Norman Covekeepers will resume monthly meetings on the fourth Thursday of each month, beginning September 23, 2010.  The Lake Norman Covekeeper mission is to support the Catawba Riverkeeper Foundation by actively monitoring, protecting, and enhancing the environment of Lake Norman and its watershed for future generations.

Meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. and we welcome all citizens who share our concern about Lake Norman and the Catawba River Basin.  To kick off the new year, our September guest speaker will be Catawba Riverkeeper David Merryman.  With a BS degree in biology and chemistry and MS coursework in Applied Ecology and Conservation Biology, David is eminently qualified to lead the Catawba Riverkeeper Foundation during this critical period.

At our meeting he will present information about the Foundation, its mission to protect the river from continued degradation, and current and future projects and activities. Marshall Steam Station and Ash Ponds - Lake Norman
