RIVERFEST 2012! Mountain Water, Air Await on Lake James

Lake James is a popular place starting in about one month.

On September 15, we (in conjunction with others) will bring you RiverFest -- an event with oodles of fun and games, including:

• Kayak and canoe races
• Eco Tours (by kayak/canoe)
• Carolina Raptor Center raptor release and interaction
• Educational exhibits
• Live bluegrass music
• Free maps and plenty of other handouts
  
• Food, FOOD and MORE FOOD!
• Raffle for an Otter XT kayak! (retail value more than $450)
  

Lake James will bring the beautiful water and perfect air.

This is a great event to attend to cool down from summer on the first lake of the Catawba River.  Lake James is a beautiful lake that serves as a great example of a lake that does not have the accumulated impact seen by others in the Catawba.

It's also a great final time to see nature green before the leaves turn in October, when we will have Fall Leaf Eco-Tour (Saturday, October 20).  This is a similar, smaller event to kayak out on the lake and see the colors in all their magnificence that amazes us year after year.

SO COME ON OUT!  The event is 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Saturday, September 15!
