Spring CRF Events Coming Up with Warm Weather

Paddling the Catawba River through the Spider Lilies at Landsford Canal State Park!

Congaree National Park Paddle

Come paddle the swamp where the Catawba-Wateree River meets the Congaree River! This flat-water paddle is a great change of pace at the southernmost extent of our basin.

Kickn Ash Triple C FundraiserKick'n Ash: A Triple C Brewing Company Fundraiser for the Catawba Riverkeeper

One of the businesses that very much utilizes water for the local economy is hosting a fundraiser that will include a great 90s music cover band (Gump Fiction) and a raffle for Triple C's craft beer for a year!

All proceeds benefit CRF: $10 for the concert includes one raffle entry; additional raffle entries are $5

As the weather warms, we're hearing from a lot of folks who want to help clean up all the trash that wet season rains washed into creeks and is on its way to our lakes.

Spider Lily Eco-tour

It's that time again!  The spider lilies will be in beautiful bloom.  We'll lead tours at 10:00 AM and at 2:00 PM.  Come see one of the most beautiful spans of the Catawba River!

Don't forget, you can always catch up with speakers and Catawba River basin issues each month.  The CRF Calendar here on the website has information on local monthly meetings.

  • Lake Norman (4th Thursday)
  • Mountain Island Lake (3rd Thursday)
  • Lake Wylie (2nd Wednesday)
  • Lake Wateree (2nd Thursday)

Also, We Love MIL will host a special community meeting on coal ash near Mountain Island Lake at 6:30 PM on Monday, March 10, at Cook's Presbyterian Church.  Riverkeeper Sam Perkins will be a panelist.  More details are here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1429041597342019.

Report Pollution in the Catawba River

Help protect your River! 

Tell your Riverkeeper if you see:

  • Sewage Overflows
  • Failure to control sediment from construction sites
  • Illegal clearing of buffer areas
  • Fish kills 
  • Unpermitted discharges
  • Other issues that concern you

To report South Carolina water pollution call 1-888-481-0125.
