Club Blue Charlotte

by Erica Geppi last modified 2009-01-05 11:59

Club Blue is a dynamic group of individuals from around the greater Charlotte-Metro area who gather each month to enjoy cocktails, music, lively discussions, new friends and good times.  Known locally by our slogan “Give of your liver to save the River,” we are pleased to launch this new social club in January of 2009.  This club will invite young professionals age 21-40 to join in making a difference in the future of the Catawba River through monthly gatherings and parties.

Our mission is to bring together those people who are both living and practicing the principles of sustainability and those seeking to learn more. We seek to involve young executives in the protection and conservation of the Catawba River.   We come from many different walks of life, but share a love of the environment and embracing this beautiful city we call home.

Our members are entrepreneurs and students, environmentalists and outdoorsmen, bankers and architects, educators and social workers, attorneys and policy makers, retailers, bartenders, chefs, servers...and everything in between.

Our first event will kick off in January with a “Meet and Greet” event on January 14th from 6 to 8 at Zada Jane's Corner Cafe in Plaza Midwood.  On February 5th from 6 to 9 we will host a gallery crawl at the Center of the Earth Gallery in Charlotte's art district, NoDa. This event will include the gallery crawl as well as a wine and cheese reception. March 19th we plan to host the first "Rock out for the River" benefit concert featuring local bands and musicians held at the Neighborhood Theater in NODA.  Various music memorabilia will be raffled off at this event, including a base guitar signed by the member of Widespread Panic.  Raffle tickets are $10 and limited to the first 1000 people. In April we will be joining Bella Lago Salon and Spa for the second annual Bella Blu Party at Club NV in Cornelius.  A Blu party will also be held in Charlotte at the Sunset Club in April.

So, come join us and meet colleagues, have a bite to eat, network with fellow members, or enjoy a conversation with others who wish to further a greener Charlotte.

And remember…1.5 million people depend on the Catawba River.  The Catawba River depends on you.
