Information, maps and links for Fishing Creek Lake
Fishing Creek Lake - Slightly smaller than Mountain Island Lake, this first lake of the Catawba system that is entirely within South Carolina is nearly 30 miles downstream from its source of Lake Wylie. In that stretch between the two lakes, the longest free flowing section of the Catawba River, can be found the largest living colony of Rocky Shoals Spider Lilies in the world.
Created in 1916, Fishing Creek Lake has a hydroelectric generating station at its dam and provides drinking water to Chester County in South Carolina. There are three public boat ramps and one public fishing access area on its 61 miles of shoreline.
