Information, maps and links for Lake Wateree

Lake Wateree - As the Catawba River enters the last of the lakes in the system it gives up its identity since, from this lake on, it will be known as Lake Wateree, the Wateree River or any of a group of bodies before meeting the Atlantic Ocean at Charleston, SC. Wateree is the largest of the SC lakes, 2nd largest of the eleven and provides drinking water to Lugoff and Camden, SC. Full pond on Lake Wateree is nearly 1,000 feet below that of Lake James, over one hundred miles to the north. There are 8 public boat ramps and 9 marinas on the lake.
Lake Wateree has an active Covekeepers group that meets the second Thursday of each month. Click here for the Lake Wateree Covekeepers page
