We’re getting ready for another awesome summer of the Catawba Riverkeeper Environmental Education and Kayaking (CREEK) Program! Since 2009, Catawba Riverkeeper has operated variations of this summer program that teaches kids about their watershed and gives them the unique opportunity to kayak on the Catawba River.
New this summer, Catawba Riverkeeper will be offering some after-work paddles at Landsford Canal State Park (Thursdays, June-mid July) and Tailrace Marina (Thursdays, mid July-August). We’ll also offer some camp days where kids (ages 10-18) can spend their morning learning about their watershed and kayaking on the Catawba Riverkeeper for a small fee. Stay tuned for details.

Want to get involved?
Here’s how YOU can support the CREEK Program:
1.) Donate cash or snacks. Your donation of just $25 covers the cost of teaching one child about the importance of our lakes and streams while giving them the opportunity connect to the River through kayaking. Donate online now or mail cash/check to PO Box 11838 Charlotte, NC 28220.
After spending the morning paddling, kids need to refuel. You can donate snacks and drinks to the CREEK program. Contact the CRF Office for details. 704-679-9494.
2.) Volunteer. We’re looking for volunteers to help on and off the water. Kayaking expertise not required. Visit our Volunteer page for more information or contact Hillary@catawbariverkeeper.org with any questions.
