The Catawba Riverkeeper Foundation is thrilled to announce that we’ve hired a new Executive Director!
Starting April 8, the Foundation’s new leader will be John Searby. John brings a diverse background in coaching, fundraising, design, marketing, sponsorship planning, and sales management to the organization.
John and his family (wife Jessi, son Jack (13), and daughter Josie (10)) love all things outdoors. They live on Lake Wylie in Belmont, NC. Read more about John and his family here.
John says, “I am thrilled to be taking the reins of the Catawba Riverkeeper Foundation…This position is a wonderful opportunity for me to combine my personal passions for the water and the environment with my professional skills of leadership and revenue generation. I look forward to meeting our many members, partners, and friends in the coming months and working with them to continue to preserve and protect our waterways.”
“We are grateful to Emilee for all of the hard work and dedication over the past four years and will greatly miss having her at CRF. She has been an undeniable force in the growth of our organization,” says Board Chair Tyler Richardson. We wish Emilee the best as she moves back to her home state of Michigan to serve as Executive Director of Opera Grand Rapids.
Tyler continues, “In this next chapter, we are excited to have John Searby joining us as our new Executive Director. John brings a wealth of organizational development, training, and networking experience that we know will be extremely valuable to our organization as we continue to grow and expand. His passion for the Catawba River and all it has to offer will fit in perfectly with the values, goals and trajectory of the organization. We welcome him and hope all of our members and soon-to-be members will too!”
John’s first day on the job is Monday, April 8. When you see him at upcoming events, be sure to give him a warm welcome.
You can help welcome John and set him up for success by making a special contribution to the Catawba Riverkeeper Foundation. We’ll use your donation to build on the 22 years of protecting our waterways made possible by our members, volunteers, and staff.
