Lake Norman Riversweep Makes River Cleaner for Us All

On Saturday, May 18, volunteers joined CRF for the spring Lake Norman Riversweep in Denver, NC. We collected boat fender, a rug, 2 deflated floats, 2 buckets, building materials, baseball caps and more, totaling 500 estimated pounds of trash. A lot less garbage will end up in our waterways thanks to the 25 volunteers who participated.

The cleanup was coordinated and led by Patty Korn, our dedicated Lake Norman volunteer who takes on the spring and fall Riversweep planning each year. A huge thanks to her for putting together another successful event!

Thank you to all of the volunteers and boat captains who worked hard to make Lake Norman cleaner. Our fall Lake Norman Riversweep is the second Saturday in October (10/12/2019). Mark your calendars and let your friends and neighbors know.
