Join the Young Allies of the River (YAR) for Plogging with the Resident Culture Run Club on June 19th at 6:30 PM!
Plogging is a Swedish fitness trend that combines jogging and picking up litter.
(In Swedish, “plocka upp” means to “pick up.”) As a workout, it provides variation in body movements by adding bending, squatting and stretching to the main action of running. Plus, it’s a fun way to keep trash out of our waterways and make our community better.
Runners can choose from a 3 or 5 mile route. We’ll have water stations and trash drop off along the route so you don’t have to carry the trash to the finish line (unless you want to!).
Running not your thing? That’s OK. There are plenty of other ways you can help. Hand out trash bags, bring your car/truck and help us bring trash back to RC, and cheer on the ploggers! Of course, we’ll stick around for a beer after the work is done. Email Hillary if you want to volunteer – email@example.com.
P.S. – It’s more fun when you bring friends, neighbors, and family!
