We’re looking for volunteers to help Catawba Riverkeeper staff clean up our newly acquired property along the Catawba River in South Carolina at the Hwy 9 Bridge.
The 5-acre site will be used for education programs, recreation, nature tours, a satellite Riverkeeper office, and an outdoor classroom.
But, before the site can be used, we need to clean it up. This means removing brush, invasive species, building benches and gardens, and many other improvement projects.
If you want to help transform Catawba Riverkeeper’s new site, we hope you’ll join us for the Project Work Day on Saturday, August 8.
You can even bring the whole family! Education Director Haley Tedder will be hosting activities for kids while the adults do some heavy lifting.
Date: Saturday, August 8
Time: 8 AM – Noon (Let’s try to beat the heat!)
Lunch will be provided on site, catered by the Catawba Fish Camp!
Location: Next to the Catawba Fish Camp
(6155 Lancaster Hwy, Ft. Lawn, SC 29714)
Wear clothes/shoes for working outdoors. Bring water, sunscreen, and bug spray. We’ll have some tools available, but feel free to bring your own.
