Catawba Riverkeeper is proud to offer 10 summer internships this summer.

Most internships start the week before Memorial Day and run through mid-August. Interns are given a stipend.

Riverkeeper Intern (2)
Interns will have a unique opportunity with an internship working both indoors analyzing data and outdoors with field work. Work will include analyzing pollution data, managing projects leading to direct policy change, assisting with waterway patrols, collecting samples in the field, and running laboratory equipment. 

Swim Guide Intern (4)
Swim Guide is an international program that provides free accessible water quality information for over 7,000 beaches, lakes, rivers, and swimming holes. Every week, our citizen scientist/boat captains will collect the samples at the designated sampling locations The samples are tested for E. coli, turbidity, pH, and specific conductivity. Results will be posted every weekend from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Digital Content Intern
The Digital Content Intern will create online content that educates consumers about the Catawba-Wateree River Basin or that promotes the Catawba Riverkeeper Foundation. Examples of digital content include: video, social media posts, graphics, mass emails, webpages, and blog posts.

The internship focuses on Catawba Riverkeeper’s cleanup operations, paddling programs, and Litter Gitter program.

Environmental Education InternPOSITION HAS BEEN FILLED
The Environmental Education intern will have opportunities to help with the development and implementation of new curriculum. Under the guidance of the coordinator, they will get to be an educator for Saturday morning education events, a camp counselor for two weeks of summer camp in addition to helping plan and execute additional programs.

Southern Basin Intern
This internship will offer the unique opportunity to work on outreach programs and assist with the development of a volunteer base, in addition to aiding in fundraising planning at the Catawba Riverkeeper’s satellite office in South Carolina.
