Catawba Riverkeeper is hosting a series of stream and streamside cleanups and volunteer workshops in Lancaster and Chester Counties this March! See dates and details of each event listed below.
Thursday, March 18 | Benford Brewing Co.| 5:30 PM – 8 PM
Let’s pick up litter from the stream next to Benford Brewing Co. When it gets dark, we’ll move to the canning room for pizza and a presentation. Catawba Riverkeeper will be sharing information about the importance of keeping our streams clean and how Catawba Riverkeeper protects local waterways.
Details:
Parking available in front of brewery and in pasture. Papa John’s pizza provided. Masks required. Bring work gloves.
Saturday, March 20 | Lindsay Pettus Greenway | 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Meet at the Barr Street Access (610 E. Meeting Street, Lancaster, SC 29720).
We’ll start with a presentation about Catawba Riverkeeper and our efforts to clean and protect local waterways. Then, we’ll clean up a section of the greenway!

Parking available at the Barr Street Learning Center towards the back. Masks required. Bring work gloves. Wear long pants and long sleeve shirts.
Friday, March 26 | Fort Lawn Community Center | 10 AM – 12 PM
After a workshop about the importance of regularly cleaning up trash, we’ll clean the area around the community center.
