Retail/Operations Staff (McAdenville, NC)
The Retail/Operations Staff members are responsible for a variety of public facing and frontline tasks within the retail and operational support areas of the Catawba Riverkeeper organization. Tasks include, but are not limited to, providing top tier customer service to our guests and participants, providing information, education, and insight at our retail locations, and ensuring quick and seamless point of sale transactions for retail/consignment items, food and beverage, and kayak rentals. Inventory management, data collection, cash transactions and general guest support are all required and primary areas of focus for this position.

Kayak Tech (Gaston County)
Kayak Techs are responsible for various hands-on aspects of the Catawba Riverkeeper’s kayak rental experiences. These responsibilities include but are not limited to delivering first class customer service, ensuring the proper collection of paperwork and payment, instructing, and educating guests on proper use of gear and basic water safety, assist in river launches/retrievals, loading and unloaded boats and gear.

Kayak Techs are also responsible for maintaining and cleaning equipment and gear, maintaining accurate rental counts and general kayak rental opening and closing duties.

Guides (Description coming soon)
Guides are responsible for various hands-on aspects of the Catawba Riverkeeper’s land and water experiences. These responsibilities include but are not limited to delivering first class customer service, instructing and educating guests while leading trips, assist in river launches/retrievals, trip shuttles, loading and unloaded boats and gear, displaying the necessary skills to handle emergencies and assist guests both on water and on land. Guides are also responsible for maintaining and cleaning equipment and gear, maintaining accurate trip logs and coordination of trip logistics.

Shuttle Drivers (Gaston County)
Shuttle Drivers are responsible for transporting guests and equipment to various locations throughout the Catawba Riverkeeper’s kayak rental experiences. These responsibilities include but are not limited to delivering first class customer service, loading and unloading boats and gear, and informing and educating guests about the general Catawba River Basin. Shuttle Drivers are also responsible for maintaining a clean shuttle, staying on a timely shuttle schedule and driving in a professional manner at all times.

Litter Gitter Crew Member (Charlotte, NC)
Litter Gitter Crew Members are responsible for monitoring, maintaining, cleaning, sorting, and documenting our various trash collection devices (Litter Gitters). This effort is part of a larger project to investigate methods to remove and reduce trash in our waterways. Additionally, Litter Gitter Crew Members will be involved in the removal of litter and debris from other areas in support of other restoration work in the watershed.
