Join Catawba Riverkeeper friends for a 5.7 mile paddle down the Catawba River below the Bridgewater Dam in Morganton, NC.
*This is a bring your own boat event.*
Join us on this beautiful stretch of river that includes Class I and Class II rapids.
Expect to see herons, king fishers, bald eagles, and lots of turtles!
We’ll eat a picnic lunch (bring your own) along the banks of the River.
Shuttle service from the take-out to the launch site is included (less than 15 minutes). Masks must be worn on the shuttle bus.
Date: Saturday, October 9
Time: 11 AM – 3 PM
Location: Meet at the Public Fishing Area (5520 Powerhouse Rd, Morganton, NC). Take-out will be at Watermill (744 Watermill Glen Alpine Rd, Morganton, NC).
*Restroom available at the launch site.

- Dress appropriately for kayaking in October
- A hat
- PFDs required

- Your boat, paddle, and PFD
- Water bottle
- Dry bag for your lunch and valuables (wallet, phone, keys)
