Catawba Riverkeeper will offer Spring Break Camps for 3rd-8th Grade students at our new Boathouse in McAdenville, NC (119 Willow Dr).
Two, 3-day camps will run the week of March 15 and again April 5, to coordinate with both public and private school schedules.
Session 1: March 15-17 (3rd-5th Graders)
Session 2: March 17-19 (6th-8th Graders)
Session 2: April 5-7 (3rd-5th Graders)
Session 4: April 7-9 (6th-8th Graders)
Camps will focus on environmental education topics related to water quality, water eco-systems, conservation, plastics/pollution, and wildlife.
All activities will be outside rain or shine! Campers will get dirty, wet, and excited about the environment and taking care of their planet. One day for each session will be an on-the-water kayaking day!
Camp fees are $150 and include all educational materials plus kayaking equipment and instruction. Students will need to bring their own lunch, snack, and water bottle each day. Camps run from 9 AM – 4 PM.
Catawba Riverkeeper’s Spring Break Camps will follow COVID-19 Safety guidelines. Registration will be limited to 20 campers per session. Spots will be filled on a first come, first served basis. To be put on the waitlist, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
In the event of the cancellation of in-person camp for safety reasons, we will offer a virtual option that we hope to still include a kayaking opportunity with! This decision will be made at least a month in advance of the first camp.
Families are eligible for full refund if camp is moved to online only and they do not want to participate. If you still want your student to participate virtually, you will be eligible for a 50% refund.
CAMP IN A BOX
In the Summer of 2020 we produced a virtual Summer Camp Program called “Camp in a Box!” The program was a huge success and we hope to build on this in 2021.
