We believe that education is a critical part of the Catawba Riverkeeper Foundation’s mission. For every community that we serve along the Catawba River, the Catawba Riverkeeper offers a variety of educational programs and experiences for students & life-long learners of all ages.
Environmental Education: H2O!
Engaging kids grades 3-12 with the Catawba River through hands-on environmental education. We offer multiple lessons to choose from in two styles of field trips in the spring, summer and fall.
After a successful “CAMP IN A BOX” program during summer 2020, Catawba Riverkeeper is planning Spring Break Camps for 2021. There will be two, 3-day camps the week of March 15 and again the week of April 5. COVID-19 restrictions will apply.
The Catawba Riverkeeper invites you to learn about the people, places, and things that depends on clean, plentiful water. This monthly series is open to members and non-members as an opportunity to learn more from others in our river basin.
Need a speaker for your next meeting, STEM day, or convention? The Catawba Riverkeeper is now booking community outreach presentations around the basin. Fill out a speaker request form and learn more about topics and availability.
We know that one size does not fit all so we encourage you to reach out and let us know what additional educational opportunities you’re looking for!
Water Watcher Training will teach you what to look for, how to document and report concerns, who to report to, and steps for follow up. In addition to these skills, you will learn some next steps and actions on how to further educate your community. These FREE training classes are taught all around the basin by your Catawba Riverkeeper, Brandon Jones.
