Catawba Riverkeeper’s CREEK program is a multifaceted community outreach and partnership opportunity for youth living in the Catawba-Wateree River Basin.

CREEK,  Community Resources in Education, Engagement, and Kayaking, seeks to build authentic relationships that empower individuals to be stakeholders in the protection of the river: her creeks, streams, and local lakes.

Floating Classroom

The Floating Classroom is a 15’ x 42.5’ tri-toon boat with twin engines designed for students of all ages. Catawba Riverkeeper will have dedicated programming for elementary and middle school students and will offer tours for adults. Coming soon!

Riverkeeper Learning Series

The Catawba Riverkeeper invites you to learn about the people, places, and things that depends on clean, plentiful water.  This monthly series is open to members and non-members as an opportunity to learn more from others in our river basin. Thanks to Xylem Watermark for sponsoring this program.

Community Presentations

Need a speaker for your next meeting, STEM day, or convention?  The Catawba Riverkeeper is now booking community outreach presentations around the basin.  Fill out a speaker request form and learn more about topics and availability.

We know that one size does not fit all so we encourage you to reach out and let us know what additional educational opportunities you’re looking for!

Water Watcher Training

Water Watcher Training will teach you what to look for, how to document and report concerns, who to report to, and steps for follow up.  In addition to these skills, you will learn some next steps and actions on how to further educate your community.  These FREE training classes are taught all around the basin by your Catawba Riverkeeper, Brandon Jones.
