Catawba Riverkeeper Foundation relies on a network of trained volunteers to act as the eyes, ears and voice of the River. Throughout the year and at various locations throughout the basin, we offer Water Watcher trainings which teach volunteers how to identify, document and report pollution.
Though not required, these trainings are an integral part of becoming active in the various Covekeeper volunteer groups and our Adopt-a-Watershed Program. Water Watcher Training will teach you what to look for, how to document and report concerns, who to report to, and steps for follow up.
Here is our schedule for 2020 Water Watcher Training (check back frequently as we will add new dates and locations throughout the year):
Saturday, February 1 – 10a-12p: Gaston College Kimbrell Campus, Belmont, NC
Monday, March 30 – 6-8p: Online (Participants will need a home computer or tablet with an internet connection)
Tuesday, May 26th – 6-8p: Online (Participants will need a home computer or tablet with an internet connection)
