BEN PLUSKA

As Triad Regional Organizer, Ben builds relationships across Piedmont Promise’s institutional and community partners to advance conservation efforts at local and statewide scales.

He studied Sustainable Development at Appalachian State University, where he worked with communities facing environmental injustice in Eastern North Carolina, including with the Environmental Justice Community Action Network (EJCAN). He later expanded this work through national advocacy with the Rachel Carson Council and food systems roles, and after graduating, served as a Food Sovereignty VISTA with the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa while organizing with TakeAction Minnesota.



Originally from North Carolina, Ben grew up along the Neuse River, where his connection to place sparked his ongoing commitment to environmental advocacy. In his free time, he enjoys reading, writing, baking, and watching movies.
