Ambar Torres Molinari

As the South Fork Watershed Manager, Ambar works to advance the goals of the Catawba Riverkeeper Foundation, collaborating with a variety of stakeholders to develop and implement projects that will improve water quality in the South Fork of the Catawba River. 

 

Ambar received her Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences from the University of Puerto Rico and a Master of Science in Fisheries, Wildlife, and Conservation Biology from North Carolina State University. Ambar’s work has focused on the ecology and population characteristics of tropical freshwater migratory fish such as the American Eel. Aside from her fisheries research, she worked as a climate science communicator at NC State University. 

 

Ambar’s hobbies are always evolving, but she always enjoys time in the outdoors, reading a good book, and finding ways to be creative. She encourages equal access for all to the outdoors and to healthy waterways.
