Jeff Shelton

Jeff Shelton serves as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Catawba Riverkeeper Foundation as part of the collaboration between the Riverkeeper and the Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden.

Jeff is responsible for the overall financial leadership of Catawba Riverkeeper Foundation.
 

Jeff has a passion for the outdoors and being active in the outdoors. He absolutely loves North Carolina and its rich natural spaces and resources. Being a part of the Catawba Riverkeeper Foundation and its mission is both inspiring and gratifying to him.

Jeff grew up in Kentucky and graduated from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green. He began my work career as a Certified Public Accountant with KPMG in Nashville TN. He later worked in financial, operational, and development roles for both large and small start-ups including publicly traded companies in Nashville TN and Charlotte NC.

In the early 2000’s, he was part of the founding team of the U.S. National Whitewater Center in Charlotte NC and served as its CFO for over 18 years.

In mid-2023, he joined the executive teams of the Catawba Riverkeeper Foundation and the Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden as part of the Shared Services Collaboration between the two organizations.

Jeff and his wife Rebecca have lived in Charlotte for 24 years. Their four daughters are grown and all live within a few hours' drive.
